BURKE IV was founded by Luke Burke with the intention of honoring the art of storytelling by producing content that touches hearts, inspires souls, and enlightens minds. 

Luke is an Emmy Award winning producer with over 20 years of News + Documentary experience. He has acquired a unique footprint in today’s ever changing media landscape through his work in the digital, social, and linear production spaces. These diverse spaces have inspired Luke to approach each project with a multi-generational lens. 

Luke began his career at MTV Networks as one of 15 recent college grads chosen to participate in the highly coveted MTVN Summer Associates program. At the conclusion of the program, Luke spent five years as member of the MTV News & Docs team where he coordinated over 250 daily news shoots across the country. In addition to working on the Diary, Cribs, True Life, and High School Stories series — Luke also coordinated on several live events including the Video Music Awards & MTV Movie Awards Pre-Shows and the Presidential Election coverage.

After joining the BET News Team as News Manager, Luke gained exclusive access to the family of Trayvon Martin. BET’s Trayvon Martin special was nominated for an NAACP Image Award and a recipient of the NABJ Salute to Excellence Award. Luke and the BET News team also won the coveted Walter Cronkite Award for Television Excellence in Political Journalism for their election coverage.

After 10 years with Paramount, Luke ventured beyond corporate production to further develop his production expertise as a freelance producer. As a result, Luke successfully launched BURKE IV and has produced well known works with esteemed clients such as VICE, CNN Headline News, Revolt News, BRAVO, STARZ, Tyler Perry, Will Packer, COMPLEX, EBONY, ESSENCE, Black Enterprise Magazine, Instagram, The SpringHill company and many more. 

As an Executive Producer, Luke is proud to have a body of work produced for TIDAL that has a permanent home for future generations viewing in the Peace and Justice Museum and Memorial. The six videos were originally produced for the LIVE broadcast of the grand opening concert celebration.

Luke is currently developing several exciting projects and open for freelance opportunities.
